“Bush haven - full of surprises !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed ...
October 2014
Les and Darilyn are exceptional hosts - extremely warm and welcoming. We had a guided tour of their beautiful property - full of information about indigenous species and bush tucker. We had a superb dinner and breakfast - Darilyn is a brilliant cook. This was all topped off by a magnificent spa surrounded by forest (able to be used day or night !!). The accommodation has been decorated with real artistic flair - a great night's sleep. We are planning our return trip already !

Hi Darilyn,

Thanks again for an unforgettable weekend. Michael and I had a wonderful stay and would like to thank you for your warm hospitality.

Les's guided bush tour was unlike any that I had gone one - firstly it really was a bush walk! Michael (originally being from China) had never been on such an informative tour, and Les really incorporated all of our 5 senses into the bushwalk. I have personally been on quite a few bush walks, but this has been by far the best.

Your cottage in the forest was beautifully decorated and we loved looking at all your framed photographs of the wildlife. The surroundings of your cottage are truly unique and a real discovery! Once discovered, never forgotten.

Darilyn, the breakfast you served us could not have been better, in fact every bite was perfect! Could I ask for the name of the French muffin that you served us? Michael keeps on raving about them and I would like to get a recipe so that I can make them for him.

Thanks again for a perfect weekend away which was pleasantly more 'in the forest' than we expected.

Kind regards  Raelene

Dear Darilyn and Les
We thought we were the only people in Australia that knew how awesome this place was, but reading through this book we realize that we are Not the only ones who love this place. Thank you for the food, the walk, the birds, the photography, the spa, the card games and everything else that we experienced in these two short days, like everyone else in this book, we’ll be back.    Ali and Noel,

Glorious venue for a honeymoon stopover, one night became two, we could have stayed forever. A real pleasure to meet you both.
All good wishes      Camilla and Ciaran (Lavenderhill, London),

Di & Keith (Devon)    We are so glad we found you, this has been a fantastic few days for us & the highlight of our long trip. Thank you Les for spending so much time showing is the wildlife and taking us around your land and Thank you Darilyn for your food and Hospitality which was first class. Your accommodation is so comfortable and being able to go in the spa by candlelight was the icing on the cake. I do hope that one day we will be able to return. We will certainly pass on details of this superb accommodation.

Thankyou for your warm hospitality and beautiful breakfasts we had a very relaxing time,
Thanks again Damian and Su    Easter Monday
Thanks for a wonderful night's stay -so quiet and peaceful and such a terrific breakfast and company. We really enjoyed hearing about Australia and comparing notes on agriculture and education. Thanks also for the helpful hints on where to see most on our trip North. Walt and Sue Canada

"The Age Weekender "    Going bush - Simply the best   "...despite the magnificence of the setting the highlight of this bed and breakfast is the modern Australian cuisine which incorporates bush foods and local produce."            Lorna Edwards reports

"Weekend Affairs"  "make sure you take up Les's invitation for a guided tour of the tracks through the forest. Somewhat of a bush tuckerman, Les points out what's edible and what has been eating, where signs of animal life are apparent.  The walk brings you to Mr. Porter's log cabin, former home of an itinerant bean grower...."              "The Age"

Wombat burrow in the base of the gully

Unique, very special cuisine, surroundings and hospitality. For someone who travels extensively as an occupational hazard, you rank amongst  the state's best accommodation providers.                                                        Ken Hore, Chief Executive, Country Victoria Tourism Council.

Dear Darilyn and Les,   We will never forget our stay at Goldsmith's. You two truly know the meaning of hospitality and generosity and render it in an absolutely gorgeous surrounding. The devonshire tea on our arrival was totally unexpected but very much appreciated and loved. I finally did see a wombat, so now know everyone wasn't fibbing me!! We really enjoyed our bushwalk Les and learned a lot from you - hopefully when we are blessed  once more to come to Oz we will certainly remember your bath. You are a winning team and we're sure of great success! Again a world of thanks          Snow Dee and Stephen.  Michigan
